Status and research interests
Research faculty with the Numerical Terradynamic Simulation Group.
My research interests are in land suface-atmosphere interactions and particularly
the surface energy balance and the expression of land surface temperature.
I study the impacts of large scale ecosystem disturbance on ecosystems and the
development of methodolgies to detect these disturbances using remote sensing data.
My research involves the development of ecological applications for MODIS datasets.
I am interested in biodiveristy, conservation, preservation, and particulary in forest
ecosystems.  Old-growth forests of the Pacific Northwest are my favorite ecosytem on
Earth and how forest structure relates to biodiversity is a keen intersest of mine.
