Personal Summary

Shea Coons grew up in Montana, where the wealth of outdoor opportunities and resulting exposure to wildlife inspired her current trajectory toward a career in wildlife biology. She earned a B.S. in fish, wildlife and conservation biology from Colorado State University in 2015 and subsequently hopped around the West working as a wildlife technician on primarily avian-focused projects. She is currently a master’s student in the Wildlife Biology Program at the University of Montana, exploring the relationship between changes in water resources and white-faced ibis populations. She is especially interested in the applications of wildlife research for informing wildlife conservation actions. She thoroughly enjoys any time spent outdoors, especially when hiking, mountain biking, trail running, skiing or fishing is involved.
